PUBLIC RELATIONS CONSULTANTS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA

The Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) was established in 1983 as a body of professional Public Relations consulting firms. PRCAN is supported by Bye-Law No. 3, 1993, of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).

The primary objective of PRCAN is the promotion of professional reputation management in Nigeria within the public and private sectors. Other aims and objectives include:

To maintain a register of professional Public Relations consultants in Nigeria;
To maintain professional standards and discipline among members through the enforcement of the Code of Professional Conduct;
To continuously seek to up-grade standards of practice among members;
To promote confidence in Public Relations consultancy practice;
To provide facilities for the public and private sectors to meet their Public Relations consultancy needs.
To confer with Public Relations Consultants as a body and to ascertain their collective views.
To promote confidence in PR Consultancy and consequently in PR as a whole, and act as a spokes body for consultancy practice.
